This 3 day course focuses on establishing meaningful outcomes and selecting appropriate measures based on the client’s biopsychosocial presentation profile and dominant pain mechanism. This assessment goes beyond the traditional biomechanical and biomedical examination and includes the assessment of psychological and social aspects related to movement and function.

Objectives

  • Apply the International Classification of Function (ICF) to conceptualize a patient’s movement and function.
  • Establish measurements in 4 outcome domains to direct treatment interventions
  • Perform hand-held dynamometry to establish a patient’s strength profiles
  • Perform a biopsychosocial screen to aide in determining a patient’s biopsychosocial presentation profile
  • Determine a patient’s biopsychosocial presentation profile
  • Determine a patient’s dominant pain mechanism

Background
